Bulleit Frontier Whiskey - A treat to behold!
Lately, I've been getting in to drinking bourbons. Why it's taken so damned long
to make their aquaintance, I don't know.
A buddy/coworker told me about Bulleit. So while I was out shopping my local liquor store, I spied the cool looking
bottle. I bought one and brought home knowing that my friend had spoken quite
highly of the quality and taste of the whiskey.
According to the label, it's 90 proof (45% alchohol by
volume), from Kentucky (duh!), and made using a "high-rye mashbill and pure,
limestone-filtered water."
What a high-rye mashbill is, I haven't the slightest
clue.
I don't ask the artist how they mix their paints. I don't ask the mechanic
how exactly they fixed the timing belt. And I sure as hell don't know what a
mashbill is... but what I do know is that it works and works so very, very well.
Pure artistry!
(Mind you, I'm a whiskey/bourbon noob so take what I say with a
grain of salt. Speaking of salt, I'll be listing up my favorite tequilas soon
too!)
But as for the taste of the Bulleit whiskey? I really dig it. It tastes
great, has what I would describe as a nice, easy rye burn to the throat (not
harsh at all, just lets you know it's there), and a warmth that spreads down as
the pleasing after-taste remains on. I can't go into what the palate feel is,
nor what the legs are like, or how it feels on/in the nose (again, I'm just
learning this stuff and there are figuratively tons of videos on the webs for
this sort of in-depth review. But until someone develops scratch-'n'-sniff web
pages, we'll just have to try this sort of stuff for ourselves.)
Be bold, taste all the bourbons! Uh, in moderation, of course.
I know this one for sure will be on my "Buy It Again, and SOON!" list.
For my own personal ranking system, out of 5, I'll give it a 4.5. Maybe I'll create
some clever ranking system soon, as for now, it's just numbers. So, there...
yeah.
Get out there and get yourself a bottle of Bulleit. I'll bet you'll enjoy
it. I know I will, again and again and again. (Not all at the same time, you freakin' monster. I'd
like to remain somewhat lucid.)
